The 2019 Golden Globes nominations were announced Thursday morning.
On the TV side, The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story leads with a total of four Golden Globes nominations.
Th Golden Globes nominations announcement took place one month before the awards ceremony on Jan. 6.
Terry Crews, Danai Gurira, Leslie Mann and Christian Slater announced the 2019 Golden Globes nominees live from the Beverly Hilton Hotel. Also on hand were Isan Elba, Golden Globe Ambassador; Meher Tatna, HFPA president; and Barry Adelman, executive producer and executive vp television at Dick Clark Productions.
Also Thursday morning, Tatna revealed a new award for the 2019 ceremony, a TV equivalent of the Cecil B. Mille Award that the HFPA hands out for film. It will honor “TV’s biggest names and brightest talents,” she said, noting that recipients will be selected based on their accomplishments and the impact and influence of their career. Noting that it is the first special achievement award to be created by the HFPA since the DeMille honor was first given in 1952, Tatna added that the honoree will be revealed in the coming days.
The 76th Golden Globe Awards will take place at the Beverly Hilton Hotel and air on NBC, with Andy Samberg and Sandra Oh hosting. The Golden Globe Awards ceremony is produced by Dick Clark Productions, which shares a parent company with The Hollywood Reporter.
